post didn’t gain massive engagement, the nod from a respected blogger with over 200,000 followers marked a significant milestone in Boy Cermon’s emerging career.
Following the release of his single “Commando“, which garnered over 400 plays on YouTube, Boy Cermon gained international recognition. Notably, Malawian artist K-Jicks, who has a significant following of over 11,000 on Facebook, was impressed by the song and requested a feature. The resulting collaboration led to a widely released version of “Commando”, which is now available on all major streaming platforms, including YouTube Music. This collaboration showcases Boy Cermon’s growing influence and appeal, transcending borders and genres.

In 2020, Boy Cermon began using downloaded beats to make his songs. He uploaded a song titled “Energy” to Audiomack, which gained over 2,000 plays. However, the beat’s owner threatened to report him for not paying for the beat, despite Boy Cermon’s pleas for patience. The owner reported him, and he lost his authentication and the song was removed.
Devastated but determined, Boy Cermon promised himself he would learn beat production. He downloaded YouTube tutorials on how to use FL Studio and learned to make his own beats. He produced his hit song “Commando” and many more, taking control of his music and his future.
